It was Friday the 13th and a full moon, but our students made use of the special energy to create some magic and stellar performances at the Spring Recital! Nineteen students — guitarists, pianists, and singers — performed a variety of solo pieces. Piano students performed pieces by Schumann, Chopin, Bach, and Bartok, with younger students playing short pieces from the Bastien piano method. Guitarists performed pieces by such composers as Carcassi, Tarrega and Villa-Lobos, while vocalists sang some classical (Gluck), some contemporary music theatre (from Matilda and Jekyll & Hyde), and various popular tunes, including hits by the Beatles and Bob Dylan.
